1. Continuation of existing interns: STIs already working in schools may continue through fresh agreements for the period 24 August 2026 to 31 May 2027. They should follow the instructions of their own district education authority.

STI Stipend 2026 by School Level

STIs receive a stipend, not a regular salary or pay scale. The amount depends on the school level and on attendance, and it is transferred to the intern’s own bank account every month. The figures below were offered in the 2025-26 cycle; the fresh 2026 hiring will follow the amount stated in the district advertisement.

Based on the last cycle and the STI Program 2024 rules, candidates should meet these conditions:

• Age: 21 to 45 years on the closing date (check the advertisement for any relaxation).
• Domicile: Punjab domicile is required.
• Qualification: Intermediate for primary level; graduation or higher for elementary, secondary and higher secondary level.
• Subject: Subject-specific posts give preference to candidates with that subject in their degree.
• Gender: Both men and women can apply.
• Character: No criminal record.
